Good to meet you….
- Q: What comes easily to you than it does for others?
A: Relaxed under pressure. I observe and wait before I react.
- Q: What do people notice about you immediately?
A: Kindness. Integrity. Reliable. Trustworthy. Open-minded. Non-judgmental. Consistently the most stable person in the room. People know what they are going to get.
- Q: What factor makes you easily likeable?
A: Humor. Humor, whether slapstick or wit is the simplest way to communicate. The play with words is so specific to language. Wry sarcasm needs just the right timing, the setting and context. But as in all communication, it requires more than one person to understand what rests behind the laugh.
- Q: Why are you so interested in communication?
A: Everything in life is communication. If we watch the world around us, humor makes even the biggest things we face, feel smaller and somehow, conquerable. Most people love to talk about themselves. I listen. I listen to what they say and more importantly what they leave out. If my voice doesn’t vary no matter what you tell me, it is something I have done most of my life. I remain silent. I allow you to talk, tell me about yourself. It is the best way to learn about the world.
- Q: What instinctive trait do you have that stands out?
A: I like words to be efficient. Rather than talk a lot, I listen to you extensively, think about what you said and then speak.
- Q: Most often heard saying…
A: “I understand what you are saying but don’t be upset if it doesn’t work like that.”
